The boys have been emphasized in the foreground and extraneous
elements removed. Will's smile in a second photograph has been
substituted for his face in the first, where it is slightly
turned. The lighting is that warm, glowing sunlight at the end
of the day that photographers call the "magic hour". Each child's
personality is revealed through facial expression, posture,
and their relative position in the space. The sky and horizon
in the background are imaginative. |
